Terms Of Service
Artist rights and general restrictions
I retain original copyright and ownership of the entirety of the artwork, from the preliminary sketches to the final product.
The client can't in any way copy, modify, distribute and/or resell the artwork without my permission.
I retain the rights to display the artwork on my websites, social media pages and portfolio, if not otherwise agreed.
Both the artist and the client may cancel the commission at any time.
If the client decides to cancel the project and has received updates of the artwork (sketches or any work in progress), the artist is entitled to retain or receive the portion of the payment equal to the work already completed.
If the client made a full prepayment, they will be entitled to be refund of the remaining balance. Such a percentage will be discussed between the artist and the client.
If I, the artist, decide to cancel or find myself unable to continue working on the project for any reason, I'll proceed with a full refund of said project.
Since I, as a human artist, can warrant that the artwork will be entirely original, created by me, the client, by commissioning me, will agree not to use any part of the artwork as training data or input for any generative AI models. Such usage is prohibited and may result in legal action being taken.
Commissions guidelines
Before I start working on a commission, I'll ask you to provide me with a detailed description of the project, its genre and scope, and any kind of useful reference material (illustrations, photos, mood boards, written descriptions, etc.). This will allow me to understand the core of the project, to succeed in my task and create an artwork that will live up to your expectations!
I reserve the right to refuse projects that don't match my capabilities, style or genre.
Process
After having submitted the form requesting a commission from me, I'll contact you as soon as possible and you will be able to join my waiting list.
If you have a preferred date for me to start and/or finish working on the project, don't hesitate to communicate it to me. This service will be charged at a rate of +30% of the base price, depending on the request.
Approximate completion time of a single illustration may take from 1 to 2 months from the moment I start working on the illustration, depending on the complexity of the project and the communication process.
If I encounter any issues, I'll be sure to notify you. If that's the case the deadline may be extended by a few days up to a week.
Once your turn comes, I'll contact you, sending you an invoice.
You shall either proceed by fully paying up front or the amount shall be split into two instalments.
In this case, 50% of the quote will be due up front, and the remaining 50% before I send you the high-quality, finalised artwork.
*see more in the "Payment" section.
I'll be sure to communicate with you throughout the entire process, sending you updates at the end of every phase (sketch, flat colours, initial rendering, etc.).
Once I send an update, work on the artwork will be paused until I get feedback, to ensure good communication.
I offer 3 moderate revisions during the sketching process and 2 during the painting process. These revisions cannot require a redraw of more than 50% of the entire piece.
Additional fees for extra revisions may apply.
Payment
The fee shall be either paid up front or split up into two instalments.
In this case, 50% of the quote will be due upfront, and the remaining 50% before I send you the high-quality, finalised artwork.
Payments are accepted via PayPal.
Payment fees are not included in my quote, and by commissioning me and submitting the form, the client agrees to have fully understood and agreed to my terms of service.
